Sanctuary Q&A
Interested to learn more about SIFT? Here are some common questions and solid answers to help you out. If you have any questions not answered here, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to get back to you.
I'm not sure what I believe about God. Can I still come to your church?
Yes. At Sanctuary, we understand there is often a process to faith. Our journeys aren't static. None of us have our faith all figured out, even if we have believed for many years. We will be happy to make room for you. Come along, pull up a chair, and feel free to study, explore, and question with us.
Does Sanctuary observe a dress code?
No. Many of us often like to dress up in our own unique styles to present however we feel most comfortable. It's something that reflects personal style and interest, and displays different ideas about self-expression and often gender. Not everyone does this, and it isn't a requirement. Feel free to come however you like to style, self-express, and present yourself!
Why do you hold services in different locations?
Among the earliest Christians, attending services by going "house to house" ensured that believers in different areas had access to worship and fellowship. By meeting in various homes across the area, we are able to maximize convenience for all involved (driving distance varies) and cover large portions of the very big Charlotte metro area in totality. We believe that we will eventually have a building. In the meantime, we commit our methods to Biblical understanding and seek to encourage people throughout our region.
How can I become a member?
Sanctuary's members are identified as those who've attended regularly for more than one month and are active participants spiritually, socially, and generously. If you're interested in joining us, feel free to reach out to Apostle Lee Ann after service one Sunday to learn about our New Members/New Believers class and preparatory steps for water baptism (if you haven't already been baptized or desire to be baptized again).
